Technology, Finance, and Smart City Events: Selected Global Calendar, 2026
The 2026 conference calendar for technology and finance reflects an industry in a transitional phase — neither the expansionary euphoria of the 2021 cycle nor the contraction discipline of 2023, but something more deliberate. Capital is moving again, selectively, and the event calendar tends to follow capital. Where summits cluster, deal flow typically concentrates shortly after.
Several themes organize this year’s gathering schedule. Smart urban infrastructure has matured from a speculative vertical into a procurement category — the Barcelona congress is no longer a venue for concept presentations but for municipal contracting decisions with multi-year budget lines behind them. Automotive testing has decoupled from automotive manufacturing as a distinct industry, with Korean-hosted events reflecting the peninsula’s centrality to the sensor and lidar supply chain. Huawei’s Bangkok launch continues the company’s strategy of using Southeast Asian venues for announcements calibrated for markets outside the Western regulatory perimeter.
The finance events warrant particular attention. The Milken Institute convening in Beverly Hills remains the most honest barometer of where institutional capital intends to move over the following eighteen months — not because of its formal panels, but because of who attends and who cancels. The Gartner Finance Symposium in London fills a distinct function: it addresses the CFO community directly, targeting the technology adoption decisions made one layer below the investment committee. The Fixed Summit near Austin serves the fixed income and credit infrastructure community, a segment that has grown in strategic importance as rate volatility elevated the operational cost of duration management.
COMPUTEX in Taipei anchors the hardware calendar. Its June timing means that product announcements made there will be shipping by the critical Q4 retail window, making it functionally the launch platform for the consumer electronics cycle. Money Expo Mexico, positioned early in the year, reflects the maturation of the Latin American fintech sector as an independent market rather than an extension of Miami-based capital structures.
The calendar below covers smart city infrastructure, venture and unicorn finance, automotive technology, enterprise fintech, capital markets, fixed income, hardware, and emerging market financial services — a compressed inventory of where the sector’s decision-makers will be concentrating through the end of 2026.
